Effective November 7, 2026. Proteina Club is an independent community website about protein bars. This policy describes how the current website handles information.
Ratings and reviews
When you rate a flavor, we store the rating values, optional written review, selected flavor and submission time. Reviews are not public until approved; numerical ratings are counted immediately. We use a random, first-party browser cookie to limit duplicate votes per flavor. It lasts up to one year.
Optional saved rankings and email authentication
You can see rankings tied to your browser cookie without registering. If you choose to save your rankings with email, Supabase Auth verifies your address using a one-time code, stores your account and authenticates your session. We link your verified account to ratings from this browser after you request it. Your email is not visible on shared pages. Signing up for account recovery does not subscribe you to marketing email.
Optional protein deals newsletter
Signing up for promotional emails is optional and separate from saving your rankings. When you subscribe on our newsletter page, we store your email address, consent request time and source, subscription status, and confirmation or unsubscribe timestamps in Supabase. We ask you to confirm your email before adding you to the active mailing list. We use Resend to deliver the confirmation message and, if we launch the newsletter, marketing emails about retailer deals, protein snack products and community picks. You can unsubscribe using the link in each future marketing email or contact us to request removal. Signing into your rankings account does not subscribe you automatically. We do not sell subscriber email addresses.
Public sharing
If you choose to publish a personal leaderboard, your chosen display name, product ratings, favorite scores, and publicly shareable ranking image will be visible to anyone with your random share link. They may copy or redistribute what you publish. Public profiles do not display your email address, browser identifier, IP hash or account identifiers. Avoid including personal details in public names.
Abuse prevention
Our server processes your IP address to generate a keyed, one-way hash for rate limiting and moderation. We do not intentionally store the raw IP address in our ratings database. Our hosting provider may separately process request logs. The site uses Cloudflare Turnstile to reduce spam; Cloudflare may process device and browser information under its own policies.
Flavor suggestions
If you suggest a flavor, we store the brand and product name, optional product link and notes, submission time, and review status. Please do not include personal or sensitive information. We do not publish raw suggestions automatically. IP-derived rate-limit keys and Cloudflare Turnstile help prevent spam. We retain requests while needed to manage the catalog and you can contact us regarding removal.
Retailer links and analytics
When you follow a retailer link, you leave Proteina Club. If a link is an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may use cookies or tracking to attribute a purchase. We do not receive your payment card details. Do not enable additional analytics, advertising, or marketing trackers without updating this notice.
Fonts and external resources
The current design uses Google Fonts delivered by Google-hosted stylesheets. Your browser may contact Google to fetch font files. Review whether you should self-host fonts for your audience and legal requirements.
Storage, sharing and removal
Our service providers include Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting) and Cloudflare (bot protection when enabled). We retain community contributions and optional public rankings while useful to the service or until removal is appropriate, subject to applicable requirements. You may ask us to remove your saved or publicly shared profile using our contact page. Hashed IPs are normally cleared from rating records after 30 days and request counters after two days when scheduled cleanup is operating. Anonymous browser voting fingerprints are kept to prevent repeat ratings. Do not include personal contact details or sensitive information in reviews.
Your requests
You can request the removal of an identifiable written review, ask about our data practices, or exercise privacy rights that apply to you through our contact page. Anonymous ratings may not be identifiable after a cookie is deleted unless you previously linked them to a verified account.
This policy should be reviewed against your actual hosting, analytics, affiliate providers, and local legal requirements before public launch.
